The NSF supported REU program gives highly-motivated undergraduate students the chance to gain research experience.  Students spend the summer living in Fort Collins and conducting research projects on the shortgrass steppe.

All of our REU activities are centered around the three main objectives: developing a sense of excitement for science, developing a critical mindset, and understanding the process of conducting ecological research.  These three objectives form the foundation of our REU program and guide our philosophy of approach to undergraduate research training. This philosophy encompasses several key issues including moving the students from dependent to independent roles, establishment of a strong mentoring relationship, and fostering student-student interaction and communication.  More about our REU Philosophy.

We are now accepting applications for REU positions for the summer of 2008
